We just got back from 3 day trip, 27-29 April 2018.  I will do the review of the Green River Lake State Park first for those that just want to learn about the location.  After that I will write about our experience. Reserving the site :  I made the reservation using the "Allstays Camp & RV" application with no issues.  With a 10% military discount we paid 15.00 a night Travel to site :  From Frankfort, KY it was about a 2 hour drive.   The roads were great and many were 4 lanes.  Only the last 5 miles were on a 2 lane road that had a couple tight turns but again I thought it was a easy pull. Checking in :  Arrived at the campground on Friday at 1300.  Check-in was 1400 but they had no problem with us arriving early as our site was vacant.  The campground had a sign that said you needed to stop at the store to check in prior to moving to designated spot.  Got a mirror tag and reservation tag to affix to the site pole.  Check-in took no more than 5 min as no one w

Finally...after the long cold winter we took our maiden voyage Planning trips are an experience themselves.  Our plan was to take several local trips between April and August to get comfortable and learn what the heck we are doing.  I would recommend the mobile application "ALLSTAYS CAMP & RV".  It does have a cost (5.99 I think) and I normally never pay for an application but this one is very useful in researching and making online reservations.  We started making reservations back in January.  During the winter months I did a lot of reading and we went to the RV whenever possible to organize and learn all we could prior to pulling out the first time.  Thank God for YouTube as I have watched many hours covering RV electric, plumbing, water heaters, furnace, and air conditioning.  Man, just understanding the gray/black/fresh water take system was as complex as any algebra I ever had in school.  And don't even get me started on learning how 12V vs 120V, AC vs DC, Amp

This has been many years in the making.  During our years of tent camping we spent many evening in campsites walking and drooling over the RVs and all the cool things they had to offer.  Granted we found tent camping enjoyable in the same way as one might enjoy an endurance test 😏.  But we could not help but feel a bit envious of those that did not have to make that dreaded midnight walk to the bath house when it was a way too cool for sleep shorts.  And how could we ever miss the air mattress routine and the inevitable loss of comfort as the air contracts through the night and lowers one to the thickness of a backyard pool float no matter how thick it started.  Again we thoroughly enjoyed quite a few years of primitive camping and we even added to our "creature comfort" arsenal as the years went by. But all good things must come to end and our time in the tent ran its course.  So about 6 years ago we started the process of deciding on how we would spend our future trave

Hello, we are Team Mason (Travis and Jennifer) from Frankfort, Ky.  We are a married couple that met later in life after we each experienced a previous marriage.  I am 51 and a bit of an introvert while Jennifer is 43 and an extrovert who keeps us socially grounded and ensures we never meet a stranger. We have one 23 year old who is enjoying the early years of work and life.  From the beginning we have loved the outdoors and dreamt of someday hitting the road to experience what this great country has to offer.  Our love for travel started with some very basic tent camping in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee.  The hiking, biking, and love of the outdoors came so natural for both of us.  This camping mixed with several cruises and vacations to the popular tourist destinations around the states only strengthened our love for travel.  Early on, we committed to planning for a future that would allow us to spend large amounts of time taking the "road less traveled" to see some o
